It's the time of year where we all want to look our best and pull out all the stops to do so. We want the best costumes, the best looks, the most magical feel we can get. This style card is for one of the looks that I'm planning on keeping well after October ends, as I'm evolving my rp character a bit at Never Never Land. I Suppose we can call it Witchy Red Cap. You're a Thief?

It's been a while since I've offered an opinion about anything that I've been reading. Maybe there's a reason for that. Unfortunately the only one that I can offer is that I haven't read anything that has struck me as worthwhile to mention. But sometimes there is something new that sparkles. Shiny things can tempt even the most restrained person at times.  And I am certain you all know how much I love shiny things.

To start off I will be honest. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started to read this book. In fact I was slightly surprised by the angle as the story progressed. 25 chapters in I was still wondering what the characters true intents may be. But the fast pacing and the interesting variety of situations are bound to keep a readers interest. I personally read the whole thing in one night, lets say about 5 or 6 hours.

The story revolves around two characters, Alison and Cole. They're very different people, and neither one is really developed and presented as the central character at the very start of the book. In my opinion you could look at it either way. Cole could be the main character. Or Alison can be. In my opinion it is dependent on which character the reader has more of a relation to. I personally wanted to spank some common sense into Alison, but I won't explain why that would be giving spoilers.

But I will offer a few key sparks. There is fashion involved, and not every day run way fashion either. It's experimental scientific type fashion. There are explosions. There are gun fights. There are bad guys, and there are.... well... bad guys that are good guys that could be bad guys.

Another interesting thing is that there is a BDSM type theme is recurrent throughout. To be honest though it is not written in an offensive manner. In fact the book itself offers a rather amusing twist with some of it's scientific adages to the idea of restraint. A variety of instances and situations offer the reader various types of ideas and events to ponder. Not only that, it's not presented in a detrimental fashion.

But is there sex? Depends on how you look at it. The book seems to have a fade to black type of approach when it actually comes down to the deed itself. Meaning that, while there are situations that may be sexually charged, the reader is not forced to wade through a sex scene. This is not saying that they would be an unwelcome part to the plot, but they are not necessary to have an enjoyable reading experience.I personally found it enjoyable without the gratuitous sex.

This piece is recommended for adult readers. The content is a bit much for a younger reader, although given the prevalence of Fifty Shades of Gray in the media it may not be a bad choice for readers of that series. As it might give them a bit more to think about. Again it's an unrealistic situation, but by far it isn't as romantic and might make them see that there is more depth to a scene. I will also say that the targeted readership for the piece appears to be unisex. It is not written in such a manner that it would appeal more to a female or male audience. Which is in a way surprising. So if you're looking for a different read, head on over and give this book a shot, you just might like it.

Style with Tia : A Koi Mermaid

Fashion is really something that we each make our own choices about. We all have our own unique opinions on it. It is these opinions that help us to be able to create unique avatars, looks , and characters within Second Life.

In the past I know that I have had a post with a mermaid. But this is a style card post. Which is different than the last post I did where I did a short role play example along with a picture of a mermaid character. I put together this look for the mermaid party that happened at Never Never Land on monday.

A Pirate & Fairy Go To The Moon (Part 2)

Tiamet hears the comment and forgets her vendetta with the clock and she flits out the hatch eyes as big as turkey platters, squeals gleefully "We're on the moon?"

WldDog Nods. "Yeah, but don't go far. The magic of the ship will not let you breath for too long away from it. Do you want to know what the moon tastes like?"

Tiamet eyes the moon and is unsure "It doesn't quite look like pie like I was promised." she sulks leaning on the ships railing her lips pursed into a disappointed pout.

WldDog runs below and checks to see if the magic ship was ready to withstand much time in space. He returned to the fairy. "Well, now is your chance. In a few minutes the moon will be as far away as it ever was."

 Tiamet leaps over the railing and lands gingerly, the dust of the moon clouding up with the impact as her wings flip. SHe frowns some as she shifts scooping up handfuls of the gritty moon surface she lets out an annoyed sound "This isna pie!"

 WldDog smiles "Nothing in space is as it seems. If we make it back, perhaps you can tell your friend what the moon really tastes like"

Tiamet grumbles and stuffs a handful of the grey matter into one of her pouches. "Nope I has them taste it themself."

WldDog finally notices the springs and other components sticking out of the clocks. " Did you do that?"

 Tiamet sits on the steps and nods "yes those nasty clocks tried to kill us!"

WldDog scratches his head. "I forgot you eat metal"

Tiamet giggles "Is that a bad thing?"

 WldDog: "well, it is if we want to get home in one piece."

 Tiamet sits on the steps flipping her wings "well how do we get back to Never Land?"

WldDog: "I do not know how long the magic will keep us here. It could be minutes, or it could be years. You see, this spot here? That is where the key goes to lock in a time. You ate the gear that it turns and now i have no way of knowing when we will be sent back. And I am not sure, but I am guessing the food here is not very plentiful."

Tiamet eyes the clocks "I dunno bout you but I think we has plenty of food." her tone is pouting. "And which gear do you actually need back?" She tips her head almost in a bird like manner waiting for his response.

WldDog reaches for the fairies head and grabs a handful of hair. He looks down her throat hoping to see what else she had eaten recently. "What else do you have in there?"

Tiamet acks swatting at his hand "leggo! I has the key, about 6 gears, 2 springs, some buttons, and a small metal whistle that I had for a snack around lunchtime...."

WldDog laughs "You may be our ticket back home, you little thief." He picks up the fairy and shakes her upsidedown, hoping to dislodge anything he can.

Tiamet pouts and squirms "Am not a thief!" squeals as is shaked upside down, but all that drops out of her mouth is one of the smaller cogs.

WldDog listens for more items to fall to the ground, but is distracted as he realizes her dress still falls in this gravity. He slows the shaking as he focuses and then steals a kiss from the inside of her thigh.

Tiamet lets out some more yelps as is shaken, she lets out a startled sound and wriggles like a fish as feels the kiss brush her skin. She debates if she oughta just bring the metal bits and bobs up or not, but they're hers, she wantsa take them to her treasure hidey hole.

WldDog tries to hold her, feeling her skin against his was as enjoyable on the moon as it was back home. He squeezes the slippery fish as tight as he can, but she is able to wiggle away.

Tiamet flails some with a small growl grabbing the little cog that had fallen out and popping it back in her mouth as she scrambles to hide behind the desk.

WldDog picks up the clocks and carries them to one of their many pirate treasure lock boxes. He soon locks them into the chest and approaches the desk. "Do you really think you can hide from a pirate on his own ship?"

[23:06]  Tiamet scrambles to keep 3 sides of the desk between them. She peers at him over the edge of the desk her fingertips barely visible as she leans on the desk. "No, but keep my treasures I plan to." Her tone is sulky as she pouts at him.

A Pirate & Fairy Go To The Moon (Part 1)

[22:18]  WldDog (wldknight): be careful of the clocks on my desk. They open portals

Tiamet peers over and eyes the clocks "what kind of portals?"

WldDog : well... I opened one to hell yesterday. Had to get a guy back"

 Tiamet giggles her eyes widening in amusement "there's no such place!"

WldDog smiles, "Oh yes there is. I have been there, recently. The demons there dont like me hacking them to pieces"..."Can't say I blame them"..."took one of their helpers from them. They never like that."

Tiamet laughs merrily "no more than my kin appreciate the sort of things akin to that."

WldDog: "Good point. Is there anyplace you would like something from?" He eyes the fairy carefully.

Tiamet hrms "The moon? Is supposed to be made of apple pie, my friend the Doctor told me so once..."

WldDog: "Hmm... I always thought it was cheese. Lets see." He places the clocks on his desk and points all the hands to the sky. He grabs a book of the shelf and opens it to retrieve a key from a hollowed out portion section of the book.

Tiamet giggles leaning in and running a fingertip on the back of his neck as he places the clocks, she watches with interest "Hook doesn't like clocks you know...."

WldDog: "Yeah, he doesn't like these either, but he knows what they can do so i am allowed to keep them. As long as he doesn't have to see them"

Tiamet giggles and makes a grab for the key "what's that for?"

WldDog Takes the key and winds the clocks, then replaces the key to the book.. only to have the fairy remove it before he could close the book. "That is one of the ways the clocks work" He reaches for the key

Tiamet balances the key on the tip of her nose like a seal would a ball, and dances out of his reach giggling "It's shiny! am keeping it!"

WldDog: chases the fairy around the room. "No no no no,,, don't drop it. It could destroy the clocks."

Tiamet flips it off her nose and catches it in her teeth grinning at him some from the other side of the desk. She tips her head and opens her mouth taking in the key and holding it like a squirrel would a nut "Why?"

WldDog: "I dont know what would happen. The magic of the clocks is locked onto the moon, and if it is destroyed right now it could bring the whole moon to us and destroy never never land."

Tiamet squeaks and swallows the key startled by the idea

WldDog slowly approaches Tiamet and just misses the key before it is swallowed. A look of fear crosses Wlddog's face. "Oh no."...."No no no no no no no."

Tiamet winces some feeling the key go down she blinks looking sheepish "sorry >.>"

WldDog gives her a blank look as he looks at the clocks. "Well, it seems like everything is alright....." The entire ship starts to shake. "never mind!" He shouts.

Tiamet squeaks and fllips her wings hovoring off the shaking floor, a frightened expression on her face as she watches books tumble off the shelves "what is that?"

WldDog looks around and runs on shaky ground to look out of the hatch, fearing he does not see the moon rushing to crush them all. He looks in dread as he does indeed see the moon flying towards them. "I think we all are going to die now."

Tiamet flips her wings anxiously and picks up two of the clocks and starts shaking them "Make it stop!!!"

WldDog  rushes over to her and carefully takes the clocks from her. "No no no... That could make things worse!" He grabs the clocks and glances out of the port side windows. He did not see any water. He instead saw the edge of the earth. suddenly the clocks were not longer that important. "Uh, Tiamet, can fairies fly in outer space?"

Tiamet blinks some "Technically......why?" she tips her head looking worried not quite getting what he's getting at she makes a grab for the clock "make the time stop on them make it stop!"

 WldDog  hears the clocks release a spring as she shakes one of them. The ship lurches to a stop as the spring stand oddly the side of the clock.

Tiamet grabs for the clock that has the spring sticking out, intending to pull out the springs and cogs

WldDog slowly climbs to the deck and looks over the side. The ship was now sitting on the surface of the moon. He whispers: "Uh, Tiamet? You can find out if the moon is made of pie now."

One Dead Parrot

Today we have another role play example. Courtesy of those involved, who have asked that their names be changed. Remember there's no telling what kind of situation you may find when you enter Never Never Land, and there's always a different story waiting to be told. There's so much to explore and see. Don't take my word on it, go ahead and see.

Lily shivers and shudders at the sight of the sudden display and slapping noise as the patch smacks against his eyelid. "well what did you at least kill the bird for, make a nice pen with its feathers?"

Bootleg Barry grins as he tightens the rope around her petite little wrists as he wriggles the patch back into place and mutters "i ripped out the bloody birds feathers and threw 'em all overboard, then pulled out the thigh bones and tied together my shawl, and my boats, me had to make sure they didn't come untied....parrot bones seem to keep em in place with dee rope i use

Lily listens intently watching with a curious expression as he messes with the ties that bind her. "well that is good I guess to hear, a little terrifying for me to hear at the same time." looking  in each direction trying to avoid eye contact with his good eye. Nervously thinking of the many things he could probably do to her just as easily as he did to the bird.

Lily looks at him curiously "how did you lose your eye by the way"
Lily shifts looking away sheepishly not knowing if it is something not wanted to be talked about

Bootleg Barry pulls the eye patch out and lets it slap against his eyelids "eh..mah stupid parrot in me boat got me one fine day on dee water..."

The bombings in Boston hit close to home for me, having lived in the area all my life. But Boston, like many cites, is strong. Boston Strong is what we call ourselves now.

When something like this happens, you wonder if the world is full of bad people. But then you see the good come out. You see how totally awesome people can be in the midst of danger, willing to risk their lives to save others. You see how people from across the country and around the world send their love and support in different ways. Those are the people who restore your faith in humanity.

Styling With Soka (3): Dryad

It is well past time for me to do another of these, and so I present you another non-human version of myself: My Dryad.  The newest, but I had to, because I really love, love, love how this one turned out.  Take a look:

I didn't want green skin or just tattoos, I wanted a dryad who looked like she stepped out of her tree, but spent the rest of her time living within it's trunk.  To that end, the mesh earth elemental avatar by Kaelin Westland was fantastic: eventually, I want to get all of her elementals.  Just looking at them feeds my creativity to see what I can do with them, make them characters of their own.  For the most part, being mesh, the body is default, but minor changes to size, fat, and head can all be done by editing your avatar's underlying shape, so I shifted mine just a little to fit how I wanted.  Honestly, it probably makes little difference, and the avatar is just beautifully done and textured.  It includes a walker, the leaves on the hands and shoulders, and the eyes, a lovely green that I couldn't beat for fitting the avi with anything I found in the market.  Yes, the branches coming out of her head are part, too.

Being who I am, I could not resist adding some personality... and clothes.  Even if I know she's made out of rock and bark, who I am just doesn't hold to running around nude easily.  You just have to be careful because, being mesh, clothing layers won't work and most mesh clothing won't look correct on the avatar, especially as you can't use an alpha - the alpha is already hiding your real body.  All the same, I found some beautiful clothes with prims just how I want, including the outfit in the picture, which has those beautifully sculpted wings.  For the hair, I decided early on I wanted a long, thick braid, and the one I found works perfectly! All the details are below.

Information about Never Never Land Roles

AKA How To Know Who You're Interacting With ^_^

When you join at Never Never Land, no matter which group you decide to join, you are simply a noob. There is nothing at all important about you in this role, you mean nothing to higher ranking persons. BUT You matter, because as a role player it's your responsibility to find a niche. THrough interacting with others on the sim you can find your place.

Noobs are often shunned because at this point because they have not proven to their group that they are in fact worth something. To rank up to the next level, from being a basic member of this group, you have to prove you want it. There are various ways to do this. Participation and being in theme are two good ways to do this. But there are some very specific things to keep in mind.

To prove that you want to be more than a noob you may want to do some of the following. You should be armed, and actually know how to use your weapon. You will want to contact a higher ranking member of this group and request to move up in rank. They may ask you to complete a task in order for you to earn the rank, but that's part of the fun in role play. Interacting with people and having fun in the process.

The Pirates Woodland Companian

 A special thank you to Natalie and Kieran for this wonderful role play example from Never Never Land. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I did. Keep in mind that each person you meet in Second Life has their own style, and their own ideas on how a story should go. Never expect things to go as planned. And above all else, have fun.

Kieran Kelberry: The pirate brings down the girl at the edge of a pond and undresses his captive, slowly slipping off her camisk.

Natalie Wendel: pushes back at him while his hands grope over her pulling off her clothes.  She kicks and scratches at him but is unsuccessful in keeping her clothing on

Kieran Kelberry: Smiles at her feeble attempt not really sure if she is struggling.  He pulls her over to the nearby stream and tosses her into the water.

Natalie Wendel: As he places her in the water she rears her hand back and aims her flattened palm toward his cheek intending to slap him hard

Kieran Kelberry: takes the slap on his cheek and grabs her hair dunking her head in the water.
Kieran Kelberry: One

Natalie Wendel: struggles under the water hands and feet flaying

Kieran Kelberry: pulls her up, desperate for air and says, "Are you going to slap me again?"

Natalie Wendel: gasps and rears back and spits at him

Kieran Kelberry: yanks her hair, dunking her head down again, this time counting to ten.

Natalie Wendel: again... she comes out flaying and spitting out water, choking and sputtering

Kieran Kelberry: growls at her, "That wasn't very nice."

Natalie Wendel: glares at him... muttering, "I would kill you if I could"

Kieran Kelberry: stares back at her, "Do it again and I might not let you up again."

Natalie Wendel: puts up a weaker attack.. trying to scratch and bite at him...  insolent and still not giving up

Kieran Kelberry: can't help but smile, "You are in no position to be threatening.   But, I have to hand it to you.  You've got guts."  He dunks her again before she can speak and after counting to ten pulls her up again.

Natalie Wendel tries to stop him but his hand, still on her hair jerks her down and soon she is under water again fighting to hold her breath

Natalie Wendel: comes up gasping, weak and barely moving

Kieran Kelberry: What is this getting you, girl?  A lung full of water? Is that what you want?

Natalie Wendel's eyes flare up ... and she sputters, "I will not give you my body willingly, hunter!"

Kieran Kelberry: We can do this the hard way then and he jumps into the pool straddling his captive.  Face to face he pushes her head below the water watching her face, seeing her terror as he hold her there.

Natalie Wendel: stares up at him... her anger changing quickly to fear.  Weak now to the point of exhaustion she cannot hold her breath and her face shows the terror he is looking for

Kieran Kelberry: the girl thrashes but he holds steady.

Natalie Wendel: Her fear turns to a pleading look of surrender, her slowing movements obviously desperate.

Kieran Kelberry: watches as she gulps and pulls her up.

Natalie Wendel: starts to black out.. her hands on his chest... begging him for mercy
Natalie Wendel: comes up and gasps deeply drinking in air while spitting out water, her hands still on his chest

 Kieran Kelberry: whispers to her, his face close to hers, "Does this please you girl, to be almost drowned for your insolence?

Natalie Wendel: looks away from him... she is still ornery.. but knows that he will hold her down again.. "no.. it doesn't," she says.. adding, "Sir" merely as an afterthought

Kieran Kelberry: We could be making sweet love but you choose to breath water. 

Natalie Wendel: looks up at him suddenly.. her eyes again flaming.  "I would be pinned down and entered like an animal, plundered and then stepped over as you stride away seeking another girl."

Kieran Kelberry: sees the fire in her eyes and douses it with another dunking.

Natalie Wendel: cries out, "You are no different than the others," just as her head goes under the water again.

Kieran Kelberry: Watches again for the terror in her eyes.

Natalie Wendel: soon gives in, struggling for air

Kieran Kelberry: Pulls her back out.

Natalie Wendel: heaves loudly... coughing .. her frame wrenched

Kieran Kelberry: See this will not end well for you if you allow it to end.
Kieran Kelberry: It is best that you submit to me.

Natalie Wendel: wheezes.. "Do whatever you wish... You are the captor."  Her voice is bitter and again.. she rears up, looking at him, "You may take my body but  i will NEVER submit myself"

Kieran Kelberry: dunks her down in the water this time pinning her head against the wall of the pool.

Natalie Wendel: groans as she goes down... weakened and aching from the water forced into her lungs.. her flaying appendages are not as strong and she soon is limp under the water

Kieran Kelberry: feels her go limp and brings her up.

Natalie Wendel: pinned down, barely conscious she feels him lifting her up and again.. coughs and spits... racking her body... looking like a drowned cat

Kieran Kelberry: pulls her limp body from the pool and hangs her head down over the side of the shore.

Natalie Wendel: wheezes and rasps out softly... "I will die first... "  She does not want to die but feels backed up against a wall.. her own stubborn spirit now her worst enemy

Kieran Kelberry: Laughs at the almost drown prey.  "Are you sure you still want to defy me?"

Natalie Wendel's coughs turn to sobs... tears mixing with water... she chokes out.. "Please... just kill me now, pirate," knowing that she cannot resist him any longer..

Kieran Kelberry: murmurs, "That is not my intent girls.  Dead you are nothing to me."

Natalie Wendel 's body sags.  She knows that he is more stubborn than she.  She had hoped he'd give up and suffice with a beating and leave her... but.. no.  She lies there stymied, unable to speak.

Kieran Kelberry: adds, "Alive you can be a pleasure for me.  I would not be so bad.... I promise.  I can be benevolent. I will feed you.  Clothe you. Keep you.  Freedom in this violent world is not all that great.

Natalie Wendel: moves her head to the side... "How can I pleasure you when I will not give into you"  A silence in their conversation lingers.. and .. she relents.. "I will do as you say.. but I can't promise to submit fully. "

Kieran Kelberry: 'I have the means to provide for you.'
Kieran Kelberry: Sits the girl up so he can see her better.

Natalie Wendel: steadies herself before him.. .looking at him with new eyes.. respect and fear mingled

Kieran Kelberry: "Now tell me why you cannot promise full submission."
Kieran Kelberry: Reaches into a small pouch and extracts a small piece of dried meat.
Kieran Kelberry: begins to chew.

Natalie Wendel: stares beyond him at the clouds in the sky.. "I will become nothing more than a dog.. tied to a stake... You will toss me a bone now and then.. and then beat me when you are drunk.  I know of pirates"... watches him eat with longing eyes

Kieran Kelberry: Smacks lips as he swallows the meat.
Kieran Kelberry: Sees the longing in her eyes.  Reaches for his pouch again.... another small hunk of meat is in his palm.

Natalie Wendel's mouth waters following the movement of his hands and jerks slightly as he smacks his lips... A different torture this is.. but just as effective

Kieran Kelberry: Holds out the hunk ... tempting her to grab it.  "What will you give for this girl?"

Natalie Wendel: hesitates.. her stomach growling.. her lips parted... she stares at him... not angry... but yearning... food.. she needs sustenance... she leans forward... her hand in the air... "Please... please sir"

Kieran Kelberry: pulls back just far enough so she cannot reach it.  "This comes with a price."

Natalie Wendel: groans almost inaudibly.... and stops... "what is the price then?," she whispers

Kieran Kelberry: "What if I told you you would never be hungry again if you submitted to me?  You could have the finest clothing, the best wines and fruits, cheeses.  I have the means to provide for you but, your submission must be complete."
Kieran Kelberry: Stands the girl up this time inspecting her every side.

Natalie Wendel: stops at the mention of clothes and pausing, looks him over... "Sir.. what if I said that I wanted to stand by you, not in silks but in a good strong camisk.  Thick against the winter cold.  I would carry your bow... hold your shot fowls... I am not a pampered girl.  I would want to be out ... "   she hesitates... "with you"

Kieran Kelberry: Strokes chin at the thought of a companion in the woods not a kept woman waiting at home.
Kieran Kelberry: "you make an interesting offer".... reaches in the pouch and hands her a chunk of meat.  "Tell me more."
Kieran Kelberry: eyes the naked girl before him.

Natalie Wendel: looks up into his face as he looks her over.. and takes the meat.. slowly reaching it to her moth where she savors the taste and chews slowly... "I am free like the wind.  I am of the earth and sky and water... not a house.  If you cage me I will die.  But if you let me be out with you... I will serve you." she knows she has probably said too much... but she speaks from the heart... and bows her head still chewing on the small piece of meat

Kieran Kelberry: "Would you give yourself unconditionally in the wood as a pleasure slave would do in my home?  It is a hard decision as you are very beautiful for a prey who would rather stay in the wood."

Natalie Wendel: breathes in deeply... knowing that she is taking a risk of infinite proportions and nods, "Yes.  I will give myself to you fully... and pleasure you in your home as well."  Her hand reaches up and she strokes her left nipple without even realizing what she is doing

Kieran Kelberry: Smiles.... "I will take your offer and you will be rewarded with food clothing and in time earned respect."

Kieran Kelberry: Tosses her another hunk of meat.  "Now kneel before me as a sign of your submission."

Natalie Wendel: lefts her head to meet his eyes and grabs at the meat.. popping it into her mouth and chewing slowly making soft sucking noises as she take the full taste o the food out.  At his command she hesitates first but... kneels

Kieran Kelberry: Smiles broadly at her acceptance and crouches before her.  He touches her chin and asks  " What do people call you prey?"

Natalie Wendel: feels more than naked before him.. but feels that her soul is now naked too... he crouches down in front of her and she is suddenly aware of this and blushes wanting to cover herself... but murmurs, "Natalie or Nat, Sir," her body shivering under his gaze

Kieran Kelberry: "Natalie... That is a pretty name.  I can think of nothing better to call you so I will call you Natalie."
Kieran Kelberry: "Now stand up."

Natalie Wendel: smiles for the first time at his words and slowly stands before him

Kieran Kelberry: turns on his heel and walks away pulling her along with chain.

Never Never Land Reopened!

Alright Runners and Role Players! It's time to celebrate! Never Never Land is re-opened as of today, having done some huge changes sim wise to enhance your experience. It's still a predator and prey scenario. With a beautiful setting. (I can't even begin to describe all the new areas that they've put in). So make sure you head over and check it out. There are 4 different groups that you can join, and a role for everybody. And you shouldn't be afraid to explore the grounds, there's more to see than ever before

Also, for those interested in meeting other players, and just outright fun, today is an All Out War event! The event should be getting underway around 6 pm SLT, so that people can register for the side that they want to be fighting for. You'll register as either a Lost Boy or a Pirate. The registration lasts until about 6:30 pm SLT to give people some wiggle room and to even out the sides.

This event should be held in 3 rounds. Pirates VS Lost Boys, Men VS Woman, and then Last one standing. Prizes for the event may involve but are not set or limited to outfits/weapons/cash or even a special title of who ever wins last one standing until the next AOW giving special privileges (to be discussed with the winner).  So here's hoping that you have a chance to stop in and enjoy the festivities!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ BASIC RULES FOR ALL OUT WAR~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
ALL OUT WAR!

Two days out of the month, the Pirates and Lost Boys will have an All Out War ("Raid" style). Wendy's Girls, Tinker Bell's Girls, and Tink's Pirates may join the Pirates or Lost Boys in the war. Anybody that doesn't wish to partake in the war may take shelter and watch from the Wreckage safe zone. During this war a few of the rules are null and void. Swords may be used, Bangerang Safe Zone and The Tavern are NOT safe, and your captor does NOT have to RP with you. Don't worry, Tinker Bell's Girls are still SAFE from sexual RP. ALSO, the floating castle will be off limits to those in the All Out War, but you may use any all all of the Tree Top Chase!

There may be 1-3 Wars in one day depending on how many people show up:
The 1st and 2nd All Out War will be Pirates Against Lost Boys. Capture as many people from the opposite team! (meter's will be marked) The 2nd All Out War will only be held if enough people show up. The 3rd All Out War will be a FREE FOR ALL! Capture as many people as you can for the ULTIMATE PRIZE!

How an All Out War Works:
1. Pick a side: Lost Boys or Pirates & move to the designated side of the sim. ((**Wreckage or Bangerang Safe Zone**)) Please set your meter title to say "PIRATE" or "LOST BOY" so everybody knows who's team you are on.

2. Once there is enough players (volunteers may be asked to switch sides to even out the groups) the war will begin & no other players may join either team. Guards will have a list of users playing, all late players will have to wait till the war is over or for the next war.

3. Capture as many people, both men and women, and from the other team, as you can. You don't need to bind your captives, a guard will teleport them to a holding cell.

4. Once there is only one user left hunting or the last two (or more) are from the same team, the war is over and the guards will tally up the score.

5. The group with the last man (or woman) standing will be the winning group and a group prize will be passed out. The winners from this group may also go back to the holding cells and choose ONE of their captives to RP with. Not sure who you captured? Just ask a guard. Also, the person with the MOST captives will win a Special Prize, which will be picked out prior to the war.

If you have any questions before, during or after the war, PLEASE ask a guard or owner!

LOOK A PIRATE!

The pirate life wasn't really all that glamorous in the past. But as history becomes more distant, and the lifestyle becomes something read about or viewed on films, it has become romanticized.  There are dozens of films about them, not to mention amazing costumes and funny songs. Even Disney has been using pirates for years. They're characters people know and have expectations for.

Anyway That isn't what this post is about. We wanted to share a funny video that Soka found with you our wonderful readers. Looking For Staff Writers

Am sure many of you have noticed the inconsistency of late when it comes to the posting around here. I am afraid that I have to admit that it isn't really anyone's  fault more than my own. A constant comment, that am sure you will recall if you've read a few of the articles we've written, is that real life always comes before second life. In my case I've had a lot of changes in my real life of late, which has cut down on the amount of time that I have available to spend in second life. Which has been making keeping up with what is going on in world a bit difficult.

That isn't an excuse for leaving so much unsaid here on these pages. It isn't an excuse at all. But it is the reality of things where I am currently. Which leaves me a few options. I can either look for some new willing writers, or I've even thought about closing the blog.

But I don't want to do that. Everyone has spent so much time on this, and I appreciate everything everyone has done as we've worked together on the content here. So I've decided that I'm going to start looking for some writers. If you're interested in writing for the blog, just contact me by note in second life.

I'm looking for a variety of content types. As you know, we cover a little bit of everything here, and that means anything more or less goes, as long as the general theme is still adhered to. (What that is these days I'm a little unsure of.)

Moving Mainstream?

It baffles me to no end the way that Shades of Grey has been snapped up by various outlets. The book series is very popular, and although it doesn't necessarily present a positive or factual scenario; It has brought the idea of BDSM type activities into a brighter light. I can accept that the movie industry is thinking about making a movie out of it. Popular literature is an appealing source for them, because they have a pre-made target audience and don't have to hope that there is a niche for them.

But this, I wasn't expecting. *points at the cropped photo from her phone*

Yes, they're moving to accessories already. Cutsey t-shirts, underpants, jewelry and thigh high stockings of various sorts are what I saw when I investigated the display in the store. It's not really anything too bad, but are they blurring lines that they ought to leave alone? There are people that are figuring that the books are something to base ideas and activities around. That isn't a bad thing.

But there are lifestylers that may find it annoying to see some things used so flippantly. There are a lot of people that just think that they're dealing with a fashion statement, or expressing their adoration for the interesting "Mr. Grey". But unlike Harry Potter fans, Grey fans may find themselves in some interesting conversations. These can be uncomfortable for both parties involved.

So what I'm trying to get at is this: know what you're wearing. Think about the multi-facets that something can express. Educate yourself on symbolism, and don't be afraid to express yourself. But don't expect everyone to see what you're wearing and interpret it to mean what you've intended it to. So please, I know a number of you DO know what you are doing, and you are all (I think anyways) adults and entitled to do as you like. But take into mind the message your choices may send to those around you.

There are many beautiful things available to accessorize and express yourself. I personally have a set of neon rainbow plastic bamboo look bracelets. I was trounced after work one night (rl) by a group of gay men who felt that if I wasn't gay I shouldn't be wearing them. I had a very long discussion with them, and after we went on our ways. I won't forget it because they seemed slightly hostile at first, but calmed down as we discussed why I wear them. This is only an example of what I mean though. Am sure a number of folk have their own experience, good and bad.

Second Life's marketplace is an amazing place to find new items of a wide variety. Utilizing Market Place can help you find new creators, as well as enable you to personalize and tweak your look. There are a great number of creators that offer promotional items, as well as freebies on the marketplace. It's definitely worth the time to look and check some of them out.

Why is this a good thing? You can save money. You can find some unique and rather fascinating shops. You can be introduced to knew concepts in style. And you can continue modifying your second life, tweaking yourself into your personal ideal avatar.
